Ask yourself right now, "What do I want?" Are you single and want a husband, or a wife? Is it healing? A Miracle? Money? Security? Protection? Marriage restoration? God can fix that in a minute! (actually less) However, the very next question you have to ask yourself is: "Am I prepared to do whatever it takes to get it?" For most people, the answer is "No". After decades of perverted teaching from the pulpit, where people have been convinced that all they have to do is give God 10% of their money, then God will give them riches beyond their wildest dreams, most people are not spiritually or even mentally prepared to do what God requires them to do to receive a miracle. Trust me, for almost every scripture preachers use to promote tithing (which benefits them), I can show you (scripturally) how it was either twisted or taken out of context. ~ THE WISHING WELL ~ The only things missing from the carnival like atmosphere these Churches generate, are clowns juggling fruit and the dancing bear! God has been reduced to "Santa Claus" and his house reduced to a "wishing well". THINK ABOUT IT!! Nowhere in the bible does it say: "THOU SHALT NOT USETH COMMON SENSE". Personally, I believe that passing the offering plate is tacky to begin with and always have, not to mention it makes God look like a "beggar", and God does not BEG! To make things worse, the modern day offering plate has been turned into a Wishing Well, where you just throw your coins in and make a wish. (No personal relationship with God is required, just your money - or tithe!) Do you really believe (regardless of what some preacher has told you), that God actually needs your money? REALLY??? Oh, I'm sure by now someone has said: "But where your treasure is, your heart will be also". I agree, so show God where your heart is and give to the poor! Matthew 19:21 - Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."Mark 10:21 - Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."Don't panic just yet. I'm not telling you to go sell everything you have and then live in a brown paper bag in the middle of the highway. I'm simply pointing out what God told us to do. First let me point out that Jesus did not say: "Sell your possessions and give to the Church". Rather he said to "Give to the poor". The only treasure that truly matters is the one you will have in heaven. I know most of the people reading this won't like it, but I tell you, slicing out one tenth of your paycheck every week and giving it to some Church will "NOT" store up riches or treasure for you in heaven. Don't misinterpret me! By all means, give to your church if they do good works, but don't make it a set amount such as a tenth, also "MAKE IT PERSONAL!!!!" Give to the poor. Christ commanded us to give to the poor, he never once commanded us to tithe. Neither did Paul, neither did Peter etc, etc... If you want to store up riches in heaven, the next time you drive down the street this winter and see one house in the neighborhood without lights or any smoke coming out of the chimney, but someone is home, go pay their energy bill and you will start to have riches waiting for you in heaven. ~ YOUR PRIORITIES CAN CHANGE IN A SECOND ~ No matter what you are praying for, your life and your priorities can change in the Blink of an Eye! Are you asking God to restore your marriage? Heal your finances? Asking God to let you win the lottery? Just wait until your doctor tells you that you have 6 months to live and see how quickly your priorities change. Not to mention your prayers. You've heard the old saying "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". This is never so true as when it pertains to your relationship with God. Most people wait until disaster strikes, then they feverishly pray to God for help. If you have a personal relationship with God, then you already have an open communication with him every day. Whether you receive what you want, will depend a great deal on where you place your priorities. God told us how to get what we want or need, and he told us very plainly. Not once, but several times in the bible. (Read: "How to get a Miracle") ~ SPIRITUAL INSURANCE POLICY ~ What is a spiritual insurance policy? It's like any other insurance policy. It is something you acquire so that you will be protected when disaster strikes. How often do you talk to God, and how do you do it? Once a day? Once a week? Sunday morning repeating after the preacher? Does it consist of: "Our Father, who art in heaven, blah. blah, blah? Or: "Now I lay me down to sleep, la, la, la, la, la, la, la?" I hate to break it to you, but you are probably boring God to tears and he probably turns the channel whenever you come on! If you truly believe that God is who the bible says he is, and has the power to create the entire universe, and nothing is impossible for him, you are really wasting an incredible opportunity, by not conversing with him! Include him in every part of your day, every day, and JUST TALK TO HIM! (And be thankful that he wants us to) Talk to him about your day. Of course he already knows what your day was like, but it is no different when our toddler talks to us about their day. We already know what their day went like, but we love to hear them tell us about it. God is farther above us, than we are above a toddler. Reciting canned prayers such as "The Lords Prayer" does nothing to promote a personal relationship with God. When you have a personal relationship with God, you don't have to search for him when disaster strikes, there is already an open channel and you just start talking. Since you've been communicating with him constantly, there is no need for you to be tested. Your miracle will come quickly! Your prayers will be answered before you can say AMEN.
